Medical Microcurrent As we age, the ability to regenerate new tissue slows and the skin's natural moisturising ability slows. Facial muscles slacken, skin loses it's lustre, and collagen and elastin production decrease. As muscles weaken they create a loose platform for the overlying skin, causing wrinkles and sagging skin.

Medical microcurrent facial therapy is the ideal way to improve circulation, stimulating elastin, collagen and cellular metabolism. By improving skin and muscle tone, fine lines and wrinkles may be refined, and puffiness of the eyes and neck improved.

Medical Microcurrent: What does it involve?

A microcurrent facial is gentle, relaxing, and painless, with no recovery time.

The face is cleansed, and collagen elastin serum applied to the skin. Cotton tipped contact wands are carefully placed over acupressure points, transmitting painless microcurrents to stimulate the underlying muscles. The face and neck are then gently stroked in specific motions to tone the muscles, firm the skin and ionise nutrients deep into the cells of the skin.

Microcurrent works most efficiently on a well-hydrated skin, and adequate water intake prior to treatment is essential.

Medical Microcurrent: Duration

Depending on age, individual goals, and condition of the skin, a series of treatments will be designed specifically for each client. Microcurrent facial therapy can be combined with microdermabrasion, or a number of other treatments to meet individual needs. We recommend a course of six to eight treatments, followed by a maintenance treatment every six weeks. Certain skin conditions may require a longer program.
